Job Overview: Apotheca is seeking a detail-oriented and highly knowledgeable Inventory Manager and an Inventory Associate in a brand new department being developed. This new department will lead our Inventory management process which will include physical counts at all the retail stores, oversight of cycle counts and overall analysis of inventory movement. The ideal candidate(s) will have strong organizational skills, an ability to collaborate across teams, and a passion for inventory and inventory analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead in Physical Inventory Count process: this individual will lead the team in the process of performing full physical inventory counts at each of the retail stores as well as the warehouse multiple times each year.
Perform Surprise Inventory Audits: this individual and team will be tasked to perform surprise physical inventory counts at stores based on several factors from management. The team will travel unannounced to the store and count either the entire store or certain items or categories to ensure security and compliance of the company’s inventory.
Inventory Tracking and Analysis: The Manager and team will continue to gather data to track the inventory movements from receiving and throughout the company to ensure compliance and oversight to safeguard our inventory.
Coordinate Cycle Counts: The manager and team will use inventory data, transfers, and current issues to schedule cycle counts performed in the retail stores and warehouse to gather data to adjust inventory amounts and to oversee the control of the inventory. The group will also lead a weekly meeting to discuss previous cycle count results and discuss upcoming cycle counts.
Oversight of Damaged Inventory: The manager and team will report quality control issues as they arise to the purchasing and product development teams to ensure quick communication with vendors about any quality issues. In addition, you will assist with the process of instructing the stores on what to do with damaged products.
Oversight of Expiring Inventory: Manage the expiration lists each month and instruct the stores on transferring/discontinuing/discarding inventory
Any additional inventory-related oversight and analysis: The Manager and team will address any other inventory control and safeguarding issues as they arise to ensure that there is minimal risk associated with Inventory loss.
Qualifications:
Experience:
2-5 years of experience in retail inventory oversight and analysis
Skills:
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of basic project management principles is a plus.
